Strategy Games
Chess
The timeless game of pure strategy. Outmaneuver your opponent's army and checkmate their king using pawns, knights, bishops, rooks, the queen and king.
Rules
Each player controls 16 pieces on an 8x8 board and moves alternately. Pieces capture by moving onto an occupied opposing square according to their individual movement rules. The game ends in checkmate (the king is under attack with no legal escape), resignation, or a draw.
How to Play
1. Set up the board with pawns on the second rank and back-row pieces in standard order.
2. White moves first, then players alternate turns.
3. Move pieces according to their rules (pawns forward, rooks straight, bishops diagonal, etc.).
4. Capture opposing pieces by landing on their square.
5. Deliver checkmate by attacking the king with no legal way to escape.
